Interdiction for the Protection of Children (FREE)

PRESENTED BY THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY

Interdiction for the Protection of Children is designed to make front-line officers and investigators aware of the variety of resources available to assist them in establishing the status of a child who may be missing, exploited, or at risk of exploitation and what courses of action are immediately available.

IPC courses are limited to law enforcement, first responders, prosecutors, child advocacy centers, victim services, children’s medical staff, other related NGOs, and fusion centers.

Hosted by the New Mexico State Police and New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy (This course is eligible for “Advanced Skills” reporting credit through Acadis® Portal, but is not accredited through the NMLEA.)

Upon completion, attendees will:

  • Know resources available to them and courses of action to take when encountering an endangered child.
  • Be able to identify research supported indicators of an endangered child and a high-risk threat to children.
  • Have a basic understanding of behavioral patterns of both suspects and victims.
  • Know how to articulate their findings that are supported through research.
